My aunt Anneke. She’s a bit funny crazy and so so lovely.

June 10 – Today mum, dad and I went to a very special house called the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I was very excited because we were getting a special tour of the house. We saw her father Otto’s office. Anne Frank wrote a diary during the second world war while she and her family were hiding from the Nazi soldiers who had occupied Holland.

She hid there for two years, and had to be very quiet during the day and not look out the windows otherwise they might be caught by the soldiers. They painted their windows black so the bomb airplanes could not see any light.
Sadly Anne was caught and taken to a camp in Germany. She died when she was 15. She had written lots of pages and her dad turned them into a book after the war. The book is now very famous.
The war ended in 1945.
After the tour we caught the train to a small town called Baarn to meet my dad’s family. I met my great aunts Mieke and Hieke, they were so lovely, also my crazy aunt Anneke. She is the craziest aunt in Holland.
It was a lovely day.
